Rumors: Smart Mobile Devices Samsung will bring to us in 2013

2012 is a big year for Samsung, and this extended to 2013. Last year, Samsung success surpasses Nokia to become the world’s leader in mobile phone vendor. And Today, According to Samsung's Tomorrow Flickr page, Samsung have sold more than 100 million of its Galaxy S series smartphones, including 41 million Galaxy S III smartphones, which is the world’s top-selling model for the third quarter in 2012.

Samsung showed off its amazing flexible display and 8-Core Exynos 5 Octa Processor for mobile device at the CES last week, and rumors said that Samsung is going to launch its Galaxy s4 soon, may be next mouth, and later come with Galaxy Note 3. Although at the current time we're not sure whether they can debut in 2013, lots of things can be deduced - or at least guessed. So following just let us go together to have a look at the upcoming and most anticipated mobile device Samsung will bring to us in 2013.

1. Samsung Galaxy S IV
The Galaxy S3 made a hugely success in 2012, so it is no doubt that Samsung will release its next Galaxy product- Galaxy S4. 2. Samsung galaxy note 3
Phablet fever may be in full swing in 2013. Last week, China’s Huawei Technologies unveiled the world's biggest smartphone-Ascend Mate, which features a 6.1-inch display.

The Galaxy Note has been gorgeous successful around the world. So in order to enhance its position, of course, Samsung will introduces a new Galaxy Note 3, which Samsung believe that some refer to as the "phablet" segment.

There is nearly zero information about the Samsung galaxy note 3, the only rumors now we can hear is that the Galaxy Note 3 will be packed with a 6.3-inch screen and may be runs on the 8-Core Exynos 5 Octa Processor. Expect Samsung will devise some newer killer upgrades for the Galaxy Note 3.

3. Samsung Tizen phone
Samsung have confirmed that multiple "new, competitive" Tizen phone will launch in 2013.

Thanks to Google’s android, Samsung now is a smartphone giant in the world, and Samsung want to another Apple. Samsung understands that you're vulnerable if you're entirely dependent on others, so Samsung is inching away from Android after Google acquired Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. for $12.5 billion in May. Now The Company didn’t elaborate on model specifications, prices or timeframe for their debut. So just be Patient until it appears in the market.

4. Samsung Windows RT tablets will not launch in the US
Company like Sony, Dell having unveiled their Windows RT tablets, but there is no Samsung. News from CNET have confirmed that Samsung cancels plans for Windows RT tablet in the US because retail partners don't see strong demand and because the value proposition for Windows RT isn't clear to consumers. What a pity.

Now it’s unclear what the company's plans are for the non-U.S. markets. But at least there have a chance to wait since Samsung have not announced its plans for the non-U.S. markets.But experts is sure that Samsung could still build to opt Windows RT devices in the future, if some of the current obstacles cease to exist.

Samsung’s 8-Core Exynos 5 Octa Processor vs Exynos 4 Quad: Your Next Phone Will Be Fast

If you had to pick one dominant company at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013, it would have to be Samsung, a Genius tech company from South Korea. Apart from the excited Youm flexible-display technology debuted at CES' closing keynote, Samsung also announces the 8-core Exynos 5 Octa mobile processor. Yes, it has two sets of quad-core processors and was designed with low power mobile devices in mind and uses ARM's big.LITTLE processing technology. It is the first amazing 8-core mobile chip in the world made by Samsung, not from NVIDIA or Qualcomm.

Samsung Exynos 5 Octa:

There are two groups of four cores that can run at any given time with this Exynos 5 Octa processor.  When performance is needed, four Cortex A15 cores can handle the heavy lifting, and when doing more common tasks, you have four Cortex A7 cores to take care of things.

It is thought the first Octa processors will have the Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.8GHz, while at the same time the A7 cores will run at 1.2GHz. The on-board GPU has yet to be confirmed, but it is sure to offer a major graphical boost over the Exynos 4. An ARM Mali-T604 quad-core GPU is predicted.

Samsung Exynos 4 Quad:

It's a 32nm, 1.4-1.6 GHz Quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 beast with twice the processing capability of the older Exynos 4 Dual, while consuming 20 percent less power. The processor also sports a full HD 30 fps video hardware codec engine which enables 1080p video recording and playback. No doubt the new Exynos 5 Octa processor must own the same function.

Comparison:

Samsung says the new processor delivers twice the performance of its predecessor, Samsung's Exynos 4 Quad, which now featured in the world’s best-selling phone, the Samsung galaxy s3 and also the phablet Galaxy note 2 (plus improved graphics). That is to say new phones from Samsung are going to be noticeably faster than before.

Samsung also claimed that the enhanced processing power offered by Exynos 5 Octa processor would allow smartphones and tablets “to perform many tasks simultaneously, such as playing a game, watching an HD movie, and searching for a restaurant or business, all without lag”. Samsung also says it provides twice the 3D performance of any previous mobile processor, including the company's Exynos 4 Quad.

For short battery life, a common problem faced by most of the android phone, Samsung says that it could end up using 70% less battery life than current quad-core CPUs on the market now, as well as the dual-core Exynos 5, which currently runs on the Nexus 10. So you can read, watch, play, and write whatever you want, as long as you want.

Although Samsung didn’t reveal exactly when the Exynos 5 Octa will be available, but rumors about that it would be featured in the future high-end Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 is all around the corner. So just be patience. Let’s expect it will make its way into phones and tablets this year.

CES 2013: Huawei aims for Samsung with world's biggest smartphone-Ascend Mate

The CES Show, which brings us the hottest and newest electronics innovations, is held every year and draws a lot people's attention! This year, If there's one thing that's become quite clear at CES 2013 it's that 5-inch-plus phones are no longer strange.

Samsung launched its Samsung galaxy note 2 with a 5.5 inch display last year, and since then 5-inch or even bigger phones are starting to become common, such as HTC with the 5 inch Droid DNA, Sony’s new flagship phone -Xperia Z, and the world's biggest smartphone-Ascend Mate unveiled by China’s Huawei Technologies on Monday, features a 6.1-inch display.

Ascend Mate runs on android 4.1 jelly bean, and boasts a 720p display. And also it has a Huawei's own Hi-Silicon 1.5 GHz quad-core processor. The highlight on this handset is the phone equipped with a huge 4,050mAh battery, which can provide 48 hours of power, Huawei says, while the Galaxy Note only has a 3100mAh battery. All of these Specs should hypothetically help it approach the snappy performance of the Note II.  Sadly the device has a typical 8MP and 1MP cameras on the rear and front, respectively.

Just like the Nokia Lumia 920, people can wear a glove and still use its capacitive display, called Magic Touch. And also like smartphone giants like Samsung, Huawei adding its own software spin to what Android already offers. These include a map and augmented reality combo called Guiding Wizard to get you places as well as high-speed look-up and word translation through smart reading. The phone also have a Swift Sharing function, which is supposed to let users share files even faster than S Share, offering speeds up to 150 Mbps.

Huawei's consumer business CEO Richard Yu said the company is hoping its latestsmartphones will offer an alternative for people who have to carry around their tabletcomputer, laptop, smartphone and camera all at once. So Huawei may be positioning the Mate at a lower price point.

Details about how much it will cost or how much RAM the phone comes with, Yu didn’t say. But one thing certain is that The Ascend Mate will go on sale in China in February and globally weeks afterwards (Huawei is apparently under discussions with US carriers).

Including beautifully sharp screen with highest HD display and the fastest processor of any Android tablet, the best Android OS and amazing Photo Sphere, Nexus 10 make a difference. It's light, durable, and it is an incredibly cool concept. The $399 price tag is not expensive with such specs. But the lack of expanding storage is still one thing that keeps people away from it. But if you don’t care this and you just want a cheaper tablet with more customization, then go with the Nexus 10.

Android Event about Google on October 29

When news about Apple iPad Mini and Microsoft Surface have heated the tablet market, news about Google have lighted people’s eyes. The 32GB Nexus 7(Wifi only),3G-enabled Nexus 7(32GB) ,10-inch tablet Nexus 10,LG Nexus 4 and Jelly Bean 4.2 are all to be announced on October 29, which is undoubtedly a big surprise for us especially for Nexus 7 fans. Let’s just take the details later.

Nexus 7
32GB Wi-fi Nexus 7 has already been spotted in Japan, and a screenshot reveals it is listed on Staples' business-centric storefront at $248.37, which is almost the same price as the current 16GB model.3G Nexus 7 is unveiled at TaiWan with the model of ME370TG,it adds 3G function compared to 32GB Wi-fi Nexus 7.The price of this version has not mentioned now and we may need to wait for Google’s announcement. Without question, the Nexus-brand tablets will compete directly with Apple's iPad Mini, and Amazon's Kindle Fire HD, and maybe Microsoft Surface RT.

Nexus 10
Yesterday I have reprinted the article which tells Google is building a 10-inch tablet with Samsung that’s probably going to be sold as the Nexus 10, not confirmed yet. Most interestingly, the device seems to be unveiled on October 29, too.

According to The Next Web, the Nexus 10 will run the Android 4.2 and feature a 10-inch display with 2560 x 1600 resolutions, 16:10 aspect ratio and almost 299 pixel per inch (PPI) density. What the product will cost or when it will hit stores have not been mentioned now. More details need to be told on the announce day. It will be probably a high-end device compared to the $199 Nexus 7, and the anticipated $99 Nexus 7.

LG Nexus 4
Rumor about LG Nexus 4 smartphone has confirmed and it will have a quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon processor, a 4.7-in. display with 1280 x 768 resolution, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera (and 1.3-megapixel front-facing snapper) and a 2100mAh battery.The LG Nexus 4 will also be powered by Google’s new Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, according to TNW.

All these new devices will come with Android 4.2 on board, the next generation of Jelly Bean.It has been confirmed that Android 4.2 will use ‘Content in the center’ which will allow users to access Play Store content from a widget and ‘Tablet Sharing’ which will satisfy families and enterprise users’ demands by providing a simple and easy access to switch between several users on a tablet, each with their own email and apps. Android 4.2 is more likely to use by Google to compete with Apple iOS 6.

A 10-inch Nexus tablet with Android 4.2 to be Released by Google on October 29?

The end of this month promises to be full of tech news, as Apple has an event on Tuesday that could see the release of the iPad Mini, Microsoft launches Windows 8 on Friday, and Google has scheduled an Android event for the 29th. As you might expect, leaks are emerging about what the search giant is planning to announce at that event, including the long-expected larger sibling to its Nexus 7 tablet.

The Next Web is reporting that Google is working with Samsung on a 10-inch Nexus -- code-named "Manta" but possibly to be released as the Nexus 10 -- that will compete against the Apple iPad, Amazon Fire HD 8.9", and Windows RT tablets, including the Microsoft Surface.

The site says it's been tipped off on two intriguing specs the new Nexus will have. One is resolution: 2,560x1,600, which could work out to be a higher pixel density (around 300 pixels per inch) than the latest iPad with Retina Display offers. The tablet will also apparently ship with Android 4.2, which was once code-named Key Lime Pie, but which is now being referred to as Jelly Bean, just as Android 4.1 has been.

The Nexus probably won't be the only device announced on the 29th that will run Android 4.2, but it will probably be touted as the first tablet to have it. Whether the latest OS will offer enough novel features to make the Nexus 10 stand out in the ever-more-crowded full-size tablet market remains to be seen, but the success of the Nexus 7 suggests that Google would probably have another winner on its hands regardless.

Samsung to reveal Windows 8 tablet at IFA 2012

Earlier in this year, on the Taipei International Computer Show, we have seen the Samsung Series 5 Hybrid Windows 8 tablet lineup, and look at the pictures and video from Samsung; the upcoming new products are very similar. Samsung is going to release its Windows 8 tablet, equipped with 11-inch screen, a physical keyboard, a stylus; these features are also similar to the Series 5 Hybrid.

What will introduce after Samsung launched Galaxy S3

With the Dyle application preinstalled on the handset, users of the Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G can stream television using the 4G network of the carrier even while on the go.

2.Galaxy Discover for TracFone. 

The ultra-budget prepaid carrier doesn't currently offer any branded smartphones, so the Galaxy Discover could end up being its first. It's slated to get Android 4.0, Bluetooth 3.0, "ample" internal storage, and external expansion up to 32GB. This one looks a bit like an original Galaxy S, too, but features three capacitive buttons along the bottom instead of the classic four.

Leaked several weeks ago under model number SPH-L300, the unwieldy name underpins a phone that will likely slot in underneath the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S III in Sprint's portfolio: Android 4.0, LTE support, NFC, a 5-megapixel camera, and WVGA display are all rumored to be on tap.

Now Windows Phone 8 is getting closer to its release date. Rumors have leaked that Samsung will release its series phone, include Samsung GT-I8370 Omnia（Marco）and Samsung GT-I8750 Omnia（Odyssey）”。

Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 on sale after 2012 Olympic

The London 2012 Olympic Games have become a legend a few days ago.As the Official Worldwide Olympic Partner in Wireless Communications Equipment for the London 2102 Olympic Games, Samsung reap sales during the Olympics Games. Good news continues, Yesterday Samsung Company announced at an event in New York that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet will go on sale Aug. 16. Today the company's new Tablet Galaxy Note 10.1 officially listed in the U.S.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 comes in two models: The 16 GB version retails at $499 and the 32 GB model retails at $549. Color white and dark gray are provided, which you can buy from Best Buy, Amazon and other retailers. Samsung’s new tablets compete with Apple's iPad and the upcoming Microsoft Surface tablet.

In fact, Galaxy Note the first is a 5.3 inches smart phones, because of its size ranged between smartphones and tablet PCs, dubbed the "Phablet (Phablet = phone + the tablet).  Galaxy Note 10.1 is not a cellphone, but compared with the Galaxy Note with a smaller body, version 10.1 also equipped with a pressure-sensitive stylus, called S Pen.

S Pen can be used for the Galaxy Note 10.1 multi-screen display function, users can browse the applications or Web pages, while also use the S Pen to take notes at the same time.

Things get interesting once you start using the S Pen. As soon as you remove the stylus from its housing, a pop-up menu will appear on the right side of the screen that displays all the apps that are designed to work with the S Pen. This includes S Note, S Planner, Crayon Physics, Photoshop Touch and Polaris Office.

Photoshop Touch is pre-installed in the Galaxy Note 10.1. Files can be synchronized to the Adobe Creative Cloud, and open on the PC. Adobe Creative Cloud provides 2GB of free storage space.

The same application software pre-installed in the Galaxy Note 10.1 also includes e-books from Kno and Barnes & Noble. Users can also get Drop box cloud storage capacity of 50GB free for two years.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will still run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with 1.4-GHz quad-core processor. As far as hardware, the Galaxy Note 10.1 isn’t a real standout, which has a 10.1-inch display with a 1,280 by 800 pixel resolution. It also has a 5 million pixel camera and a 1.9 million pixel front camera.

Galaxy Note 10.1 also provides the form of a floating window to play the video, function as “Pop up the Play". This feature first appeared on Samsung's Galaxy S III smartphone. But on Galaxy Note 10.1, the user can adjust the size of the floating window.

For now, and for most people, the iPad is still the better buy. The main reason is that there's much more, and better, third-party software available for it. But the Galaxy Note shows that the pressure is building on the iPad, and Apple will have to work if it wants to maintain its lead. So whether people are willing to pay a premium for a stylus and a few extra apps remains to be seen.

Samsung and Android extends dominance in smartphones worldwide

IDC latest data show that Google’s Android and Apple iOS accounted for 85% of the entire smartphone market in the second quarter of this year.

Samsung Electronics Co. and other phone makers shipped nearly 105 million Android smartphones in the latest quarter, giving Android 68 percent of the worldwide market, up from 47 percent last year. And this helped Google's operating system extend its dominance in the smartphone market. IPhone iOS platform followed, its market share reached 16.9%.

With the expansion of Google’s Android and iOS, the BlackBerry OS, Symbian and Windows mobile phones continue to be squeezed. Although RIM is in financial trouble, the BlackBerry OS still ranked third, accounting for 4.8 percent market share, it is a shame compared to the performance of 11.5% in the second quarter of 2011.

What’s worse, the Symbian system has decreased from 16.9% to 4.4%. The share of Windows phones grew to 3.5 percent, from 2.3 percent, in the latest quarter. The Lumia of Nokia failed to stimulate significant growth of the platform

Samsung VS Apple: the new product fight

The current global smartphone manufacturers are undoubtedly Samsung and Apple, and the competition between the two is all-round, not only the Patent Trial but also the product line are secretly soared awkward. Recently, the U.S. federal judge rejected the previous request of the Apple. Samsung could be building Windows Phone 8 devices

Think of Samsung and Android comes to mind. The Korean tech giant may be synonymous with its Galaxy S smartphones, but it could be building two devices for Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 platform.

The information surfaced in court documents revealed during ongoing the Apple-Samsung trial, displaying Windows Phone 8 devices. "Odyssey" is a codename for a phone, featuring a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and 4G LTE. There's also a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display, along with an 8-megapixel camera. Samsung describes the devices as "iconic".

The second device is dubbed "Marco" and has a 4-inch Super AMOLED display and 4G LTE support. Samsung omitted the "iconic" branding adjective for this device. It's not the Omnia M, launched August 1 in the UK. The device does feature a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, but runs Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and doesn't offer 4G LTE. The UK, currently, only widely offers 3G.

It's going to be interesting to see if Google continues to warmly support Samsung. Microsoft undoubtedly wants high-end devices from the company, especially considering the success of the Galaxy S3. Nokia sold 4 million Lumia devices, a fraction of the 10 million S3's that Samsung has sold in just over two months.

Forbes suggested that Samsung's development for the platform could encourage skeptical manufacturers. Samsung launched the Omnia 7 smartphone during the launch of the mobile OS, but Windows Phone has struggled to gain momentum. A high-end device, along with Nokia's next phone for Windows Phone 8, could be the catalyst.

Samsung may simply want to broaden its smartphone portfolio. It may feel that its devices can hit a market (high-end) which Nokia hasn't dominated.

Also interesting is how Microsoft approaches its relationship with Samsung. Nokia and the software giant have a close relationship, so will Samsung's devices be as striking as the Lumia 900?

Forbes predicted that the market could shift from Android to Windows Phone 8. Considering Android's dominance alongside iOS, Google isn't going away soon. Samsung may be a stepping stone, but the catalyst could be the cross-platform development between Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. The success of Windows 8, and Metro - the UI used across the desktop and mobile OSs, will impact Microsoft's mobile operating system.

Samsung Galaxy Note review (T-Mobile)

The good: T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy Note comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the S Note app, and a 5.3-inch HD screen that's ideal for showcasing multimedia. It has 4G, a great 8-megapixel camera, and a souped-up S Pen stylus that brings new ways to interact with your phone.

The bad: The Galaxy Note's S Pen is small, has a delayed response, and requires a little training to use. The phone will be awkwardly large for some, and it doesn't fit easily into pockets.

The bottom line: With its huge screen and throwback stylus, the Samsung Galaxy Note with Android 4.0 is a polarizing smartphone that winks at tablet territory. Those who like their screens extra-large will find a top-notch device that lets multimedia shine. The S Pen adds some artistic potential, but for some, the phone will simply be too big.

After a fairly successful worldwide debut, Samsung is bringing its supersize Samsung Galaxy Note to T-Mobile on August 8. Its big 'n' tall dimensions are the elephant in the room, an uberlarge Samsung Galaxy S II series phone that dances into tablet territory so much so that many have taken to calling the 5.3-inch Note a "phablet." I rant on this elsewhere, but let's just agree that it's a large-screen phone with a stylus that you can use to unlock some interesting-but-far-from-perfect artistic and productivity tools.

T-Mobile's version of the Galaxy Note comes with a rendition of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich built in, and rides on T-Mobile's HSPA+ 42 4G network, its fastest. S Note and S Memo apps are also on-board, with new features that expand on the power of the itty-bitty stylus. As for the rest of the phone, the Note's 8-megapixel camera, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and 2-megapixel front-facing camera continue to do well. For most, the question of the Galaxy Note comes down its sheer size -- do you want a bigger screen you can doodle on or use to take notes, or is it simply too large and unwieldy?

Starting August 8, T-Mobile is selling the Galaxy Note for $249.99, after a $50 mail-in-rebate and with a new two-year service agreement.

Design

Although it's a big phone, the Note is pretty easy on the eyes, and the slim build keeps it looking light and lean. As with the rest of the Galaxy series, the Note's body is made from plastic materials. This doesn't make for the particularly premium experience that I feel $250 should buy, but I can't complain about the general aesthetic. Plastic may not seem upscale, but it does offer its own brand of durability over glass parts that can shatter or paint that can chip off metal fixtures. It weighs a chunky 6.3 ounces, but that heft also lends it a greater sense of structural strength.

The Galaxy Note's crowning glory is its 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED screen with its 1,280x800-pixel resolution (that's WXGA, by the way). Samsung's family of AMOLED screen technology always looks bright, vivid, and saturated in color. The Note's behemoth display is pretty similar, though pixel density appeared a bit lower and the image was noticeably softer and less bright than on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which also has an HD Super AMOLED display. Photos looked crisp and alive, videos played back smoothly on the large, high-def screen, and e-books were easier to read than on smaller smartphone displays.

Android 4.0 and TouchWiz

Samsung and T-Mobile may have blessed the Galaxy Note with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but under the layers of Samsung's customized TouchWiz interface, it looks and acts a lot more like Android 2.3 Gingerbread. One difference is that you can press the home button to see a list of recent apps pop up. You can also transfer URLs, maps, and contact info from one NFC-compatible phone to another using Android Beam (turn it on in the settings.) Since many of Ice Cream Sandwich's best new features are visual overhauls, it seems like very little has changed from Android 2.3 to Android 4.0. I personally have mixed feelings about TouchWiz, and I'm ready for a change to an Android OS layer more in line with Google's vision.

S Pen and note-taking apps

The Galaxy Note's throwback stylus can take screenshots, jot your notes, and respond to pen pressure -- all good stuff. Yet, if you never release the S Pen from its snug plastic tunnel, you won't miss out on the Note's essential smartphone features. Physically, the wand is a wisp of a thing, just 4.1 inches tall and 0.2 inch thick, with a button on the side that serves as a shortcut to perform a handful of tasks. The S Pen is reasonably comfortable in the hand, but it's so slim and light (just 0.1 ounce, rounded up) that holding it sometimes feels like grasping at air. There's also the distinct possibility that once it's unsheathed, it'd be easy to drop or misplace.

There are several related, but strangely separate writing apps where creative action happens. Tap twice on the screen while holding down the S Pen button to pull up Quick Memo, a fast way to start jotting a note. You can later retrieve the memo from the more sophisticated S Memo app. Both let you draw, hand write notes, and annotate Web sites; S Memo also supports voice recordings and typed text, for instance, but it won't launch from the pen. Apps optimized for the S Pen cleverly respond to 128 different levels of pressure. Harder strokes leave thicker lines, and you can press lighter for shading. Just take care where you put your hands; the wrong placement could create unwanted pen lines.

Then there's S Note, which is new to the U.S. Galaxy Note phones. It's takes S Memo a couple of steps further with a few more flexible features, including being able to hand write mathematical formulas and turn sketched shapes into straight-lined renditions. The controls are more sophisticated, but I wish Samsung just consolidated these features into one app you can access different ways. You can read more about S Note and the S Memo widget here.

Features

Beyond the 4G HSPA+ network, there's Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS; text and multimedia messaging; and Android's penchant for integrating social networks into your virtually limitless address book. You'll find all of Google's usual apps and services, like Google Maps with turn-by-turn voice directions, Gmail, Search, Google Music, and YouTube, plus other basics like the music player, calculator, calendar, and clock.

Apps are a huge part of the Note's experience, especially those created for the S Pen. In addition to the aforementioned memo notes is a game called Crayon Physics. Samsung adds its own app package to the Galaxy Note, including its typical Kies Air and AllShare apps for sharing multimedia (like your photos, videos, and doodles) with your desktop and DLNA-compatible devices, respectively. There are also the Social Hub and Music Hub for organizing tools around Facebook and Twitter social networking, and listening to podcasts and tunes.

Samsung 11.8 inch tablet disclosed in court documents

Dozens of Apple and Samsung products are being leaked to the public in the blockbuster patent trial that got started in San Jose, Calif., today. The latest of these leaks comes from court documents that show Samsung might be working on an 11.8 inch tablet with Retina display, according to The Verge.

Codenamed "P10," this tablet would reportedly have LTE connectivity, 2560 x 1600 resolution, and a pixel density of 256 ppi, according to The Verge. This is much bigger than the iPad tablet, which currently features a 9.5 inch screen, 2048 x 1536 resolution, and a pixel density of 264 ppi.

According to The Verge, Samsung is one of the largest suppliers of LCDs and AMOLEDs, so it makes sense that it would look to get into the world of Retina display for its Galaxy line.

Sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 are currently banned in the U.S. due to the patent case with Apple. U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh ordered an injunction on the tablet in June at Apple's request. Apple said that the key design patents that cover its iPad also seem to apply to Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1. In its counter-argument, Samsung has repeatedly referred to that design as "generic."

In addition to the possible "P10," other leaked products via court documents include two Windows Phone 8-based Samsung devices, codenamed Odyssey and Marco, and dozens of early prototypes and sketches of Apple's iPad and iPhone.

Some Galaxy Tab 10.1 Buyers thought they Purchased iPads, Returned the Android tablets,according to Best Buy

Things continue to look not-so-good for Samsung in its complicated patent-based lawsuit against Apple. The two giants are going to face each other off in courts starting with July 30 in the U.S. case, the most important one of for both companies–and they’re fighting it out in over 50 cases in 10 countries.

Earlier today, we heard that Google warned Samsung that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 looked too much like the iPad, which is what Apple was able to get apparently from Samsung documents.

Now we hear that the iPhone and iPad maker scored other similar documents that reveal internal Samsung discussions regarding similarities between its products and Apple’s. One of the interesting tidbits, which Samsung will have a tough time fighting, is the fact that Best Buy customers returned Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices after realizing they were not iPads, which is what they though they were buying in the first place:

Samsung was forced to release a bunch of documents it had been keeping under seal that show the likeness between its products and Apple’s. Examples outlined in the documents include comments from Samsung workers discussing similarities with Apple’s products, and reports Samsung got from retailer Best Buy that Samsung tablets were being returned because customers thought they were getting iPads. Samsung still has a pending motion to prevent all of this information from being included at trial.

So far, Samsung did not have such a great time in courts, where Apple has won more favorable rulings than the South Korean company did, with the most recent one being scored in the U.S. case – the jury was instructed to take into account that Samsung did not preserve documents that could have been used by Apple as evidence in court.

Apple vs Samsung: Dueling before-and-after stories

The trial starts on Monday, and both sides have filed their briefs. What the jury will see.

FORTUNE -- The image above, taken from the pretrial brief Apple (AAPL) filed on Tuesday, represents the story the company wants the jury to hear: That Samsung's idea of what a mobile phone should look like underwent a sudden and permanent transformation in January 2007, when Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone.

The image below, from Samsung's brief, tells a very different story. It shows 10 different touchscreen phones under internal development in the summer of 2006, one of which -- the F700 -- was, according to Samsung, the subject of a Korean design registration application in Dec. 2006, a month before the iPhone's debut.
We can't know ahead of time which story the jury will find most persuasive. But billions dollars -- and Samsung's right to sell Android devices in the U.S. market -- could be at stake.
