As for the hurricane Sandy, Google canceled the Android conference which was supposed to held today(Oct 30,2012).But it choose its official blog to establish the new android os:android 4.2 which gets the name Jelly Bean the same as Android 4.1.Actually people thought Android 5 will be named as Jelly Bean.At the same time,Google also published Nexus 4(smartphone) and Nexus 4(tablets) which run on Android 4.2.
We have been through

Android 4.0Ice Cream Sandwich Oct 19,2011

Android 4.1Jelly Bean Jun 28,2012

Android 4.2Jelly Bean Oct 30,2012
As we can see 12 Android OS versions were released from Sept 2008 to Oct 30,2012. Google will almost update its Android os three times every year. Compared with this, ios and symbian will have to fell shame on itself. Many people may be are still using Android 2.3 and they want to update to Android 4.0. But as for some brand smartphone users ,it’s not so lucky like Motorola users. Anyway, we are expecting a new member of Android family,so what’s new features compared with other Android OS version? Let’s get close with this:

1 Full Chrome browser

As we now we can open several webpages or sites iby several tabs in the same chrome window, now Android 4.2 enable you to surf the internet like this on Google Chrome for Android 4.2 based smartphone.

2 Photo Sphere Camera

You must hate it that it doesn’t get much space to take more things included when taking photos. Now the Photo Sphere Camera give your this ability. Just like Apple did in iOS 6, Google has added a “panorama” camera function to do this. In other words, it makes you take larger pictures by moving the smartphone camera and then digitally stitching together multiple images. Some of Android manufacturers, like Samsung, had already done this but it was not an existing feature of Android itself.

3 Gesture Typing

We usually use to gestures to express us when sometimes it works better than words. Now you can use gesture type. You move your finger around the keyboard from letter to letter without lifting it up.It is a classic Android third-party feature that many cannot live without.I think that would be a little difficult to handle. You know you can’t press too hard or the opposite in case the words won’t show up or show the wrong words. But many manufacturers, like HTC, already used the gesture swiping method.

4 Wireless Sharing
It works Like Apple's AirPlay, it will let Android users display their device's screen on your TV(of course the tv sets should matched with set-top boxes). It means you can transfer music or movies to the tv set. This is one typical feature for Android 4.2.It will enable Nexus 4 to transfer music or video to tv set.The set-top boxes which would match the existing TV Miracast is expected to be in the market in the near future. As Google predict, it will sold lower than $99.

5 Multi-User Tablets

You can share your computer with others by setting multi-accounts.And the users can customize it to his own preferences, such as personalized home screens and apps. Now you can also do this on Android 4.2 tablets. Tablet computers are more and more merging with traditional PC functionalities. It should be of great use for family members or close friends.

6 Resize-able Widgets:
This is another Jelly Bean 4.1 feature which was improved in 4.2.As its name tells, you can resize some widgets as you want. This is good for some near sighted or senior citizen.

7 Android Beam
Now NFC is getting hot. NFC is short for near field communication. That includes Android Beam, the Near Field Communications (NFC) function that enables people to share photos, websites, music, directions or videos with a single touch, which do more compared with Bluetooth. For example, in the near future you don’t even need to take the airplay tickets, just take a smartphone which gets the NFC function. With a simple touch,it will let you take the airplane. Apple’s iOS has nothing similar.

Are you interesting in these new features? For some smartphones which are pre-installed Androdi 4.2, Motorola will be the first to update to Android 4for most of its products, like Razr、Razr Maxx series. But it did not give the exact date. If you wish to update to Android,I am afraid you have to wait the push notifications.

Nexus 10 vs iPad 4 vs Surface RT vs Kindle Fire HD 8.9

Google has announced its new and first 10 inch tablet Nexus 10 running the latest Android 4.2 to stack up against the recently released iPad 4, Kindle Fire HD 8.9 and Surface RT. Obviously, these four tablets all have their special features which will focus the different customer’s attention, and then which one is more likely to be loved by people? Google can make the Nexus 10 the same success as Nexus 7? Let’s just have compared they to get the conclusion.

Basic Spec
My Opinion
In terms of weight, the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 takes this category as the lightest, but in terms of mobility, the revamped iPad 4 is the winner. And if you are Amazon fans, maybe you want to get the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 for its attractive Amazon service. With the most advanced android system at present, special NFC service and the highest resolution, Nexus 10 can without doubt get people’s attention.

The Windows RT boasts a quad-core processor, promising better performance than most its rivals. It’s also ripe with Microsoft Office capabilities, so those who are very familiar with using Microsoft Office for productivity will surely enjoy using the RT.

iPad 4 will also be hot with its A6X processor for Apple fans and others. If you consider of the price, then Kindle Fire HD 8.9 and Nexus 10 will be your options.

Whatever, just make a wise choice.

Nokia Lumia 920 vs iPhone 5, price and top specs comparison

Since Stephen Elop, CEO, unveiled the Lumia 920 prototype in New York City On September 5, The Nokia Lumia 920 has gained a lot of attention from both the media and consumers. As Nokia’s flagship Windows 8 phone, many people are waiting for it, even though iPhone 5 has already been released part days ago. Now with the shopping season coming, AT&T is likely to launch the Nokia Lumia 920, which incorporates Windows Phone 8 operating system, Nov 11, states a BGR report.

The Lumia 920 and the iPhone 5 have many things in common, some of which are the exceptional industrial design cues, top-notch build quality, top internal specs and most notably, the synergistic hardware-software implementation that boasts an extremely robust and smooth-running software environment. Then many consumers are wondering which phone they should purchase. To help you make the best decision, it is necessary to explore both phones and the features each has to offer.

1. Design and Build

The most noticeable differences between the two phones is the build. Both are made with quality design. The iPhone 5 looks very much like the iPhone 4 and 4S, but it is slightly longer. Like its two predecessors, it is available in only black or white. The Nokia Lumia 920 boasts a beautiful polycarbonate unibody that is similar to the Lumia 900, except that it is glossy instead of including a matte finish. It is available in a variety of colors as well — yellow, red, black and gray.

The iPhone 5 is narrower and significantly lighter than the Lumia 920 which means that the device can be used easily with one hand compared to the latter; the Lumia 920 is also slightly thicker than the iPhone 5 which can be good or bad to some, just a little something to keep in mind.

2. Hardware

The iPhone 5′s standby time lasts up to 225 hours on 2G/3G, up to 8 hours of talk time on 2G/3G, music playback of up to 40 hours and internet browsing of up to 10 hours.

The lumia 920 can last up 400 hours on standby mode under the 2G/3G networks, gives users up to 17 hours of talk time via 2G and 10 hours on 3G, music playback clocks in at around 67 hours.

As Engadget has proved it, the Lumia 920 is simply better, photography-wise, than the iPhone 5, especially in low-light

Engadget also proves that the 920 – which features optical image stabilization – bests the iPhone 5 when it comes to video recording, too.

On the hardware front, the Lumia 920 certainly wins over the iPhone 5 due to its hardware-related features.

3. Software

The iPhone 5 is powered with Apple’s own iOS 6 mobile operating system while the Lumia 920 runs on the new Windows Phone 8 operating system with a tiled user interface.

The Lumia 920 on the other hand boasts the Windows Phone 8 with a revamped UI which lets users gain even more control over their device’s Live Tiles UI, added HD resolution and multi-core CPU support, background multi-tasking, NFC and many others.

It’s worth noting that the Windows Phone Marketplace is still populating its app portfolio since Microsoft is having a hard time increasing the Windows Phone market share so they’re having difficulties luring-in developers to create apps for their mobile operating system as a result, thus, it still lacks in comparison to Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

Given that Microsoft seems to be gaining traction with the upcoming launch of the Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 on the 29th of this month, it’s not too hard to see that the Windows Marketplace will no longer look like a ghost town in the next few quarters.

4. Price

The Nokia Lumia 920, according to sources from third-party retailers, is still more affordable than the Apple iPhone 5. Keep in mind that we’re talking about unlocked phones here. The latest price list shows that the Nokia Lumia 920 base model is sporting the tag price of $700, while the most affordable unlocked iPhone 5 is still expensive with $900 asking price. The original SRP or suggested retail price of the iPhone 5 is $650, but due to underwhelming supply, the phone’s price online is still unchanged.

As a conclusion, the Lumia 920 wins this duel thanks to its mightier spec list and Microsoft’s history in software development making the Windows Phone platform a viable choice for those who are planning to try a new mobile computing experience. So this time it is a good time to switch to the Nokia Lumia 920 as your next handset, whether you are an android user or iPhone fan.

iPad Mini vs Nexus 7 vs Kindle Fire HD vs Nook HD: Mini Tablets’ Competition

Apple has announced the long-rumored 7.9 inch iPad Mini and iPad 4 yesterday, and the new models of iPad will be pre ordered on October 26.I have mentioned the 7 inch rivals of iPad Mini in my blog a few days ago, so how does it stack up against them when Apple is obvious late to this game? Of course, Apple has done its best to make a big splash into the smaller size market to make up for lost ground. The lighter and thinner design, the bigger staring storage, and 4G LTE capabilities are certainly the selling points. Beyond the basic software loaded on other three android tablets, Apple also give a big deal that offering the third-party content and software ecosystem. That’s a huge app ecosystem right out of the gate; over 275,000 apps are designed for iPad including iPad Mini. And Apple has all the video and music you could want. The advance Wi-Fi technology will take you into an faster internet world.

The Nexus 7 runs stock, unmodified Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean bringing the best Android experience to you with no clayware apps, no foolish UI changes, and no waiting on updates. There are approximately 600,000 apps at Google Play, but most of them are not optimized for tablets.

Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD, on the other hand, is running the most modified version of Android based on Android 4.0 ICS. Amazon has transplanted in a combination of Bing and Amazon services in the system. The Kindle Fire HD presents itself with ads, suggested items, and the prevalent Kindle branding. There are only 51,000 apps available at google.

Nook HD comes with the Android 4.0 ICS. It offers some special service of Nook magazine, Nook Video, Nook Catalog for shopping and the others to let you get a better experience of Nook. , Over 2.5 million books and about 10,000 apps are offered at Barnes & Noble store. The highest resolution of the small tablets at present on Nook HD can give you an incredible video and text experience.

Verdict

From the comparison of software and specs, we can found that iPad Mini is the same, or kind of a little higher, level as Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD. Overall, Nook HD is the lowest one , but it still has its competitive compared to iPad Mini’s high price. We now just don’t know whether iPad Mini can performs better or something special are neglected, but you need to think twice if you want to buy a iPad Mini considering the specs and price and the iPad 4.

Nokia Lumia 920 vs HTC 8X vs Samsung Ativ S,which windows 8 phone would you buy?

Windows Phone 8 is going to launch next week. Microsoft is gearing up for the launch of the Windows Phone 8 operating system with a number of handset manufacturers announcing new smartphones for the platform, such as HTC ,Nokia and Samsung, in order to complete with Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS.

When it comes to Windows Phone 8 it’s clear there are three major choices at the moment, the Nokia Lumia 920 or the HTC Windows Phone 8X, or the Samsung Ativ S.

Few Days ago, Best Buy has opened up pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC Windows Phone 8X, according to WPCentral. Nokia Lumia 920, which ships with 32 GB of on-board store, is available for $149.99 with a 2 year contract, while at the same time, HTC 8X, with 8 GB of on-board storage, costs just $99 with a 2 year contract. Both devices cost $599.99 unlocked. Best Buy began accepting pre-orders for the new Nokia Lumia 920 on Sunday, but the link to the product page has since been removed. Samsung ATIV S price remains a mystery, but retailer Handtec recently took a stab with a whopping £431.99. Obviously, HTC 8X and Samsung Ativ S is cheaper than the Lumia 920, but I don't think it is a good idea to leave the Lumia 920.

Now let’s take a look the full specs about the phones.

The full specs of Nokia Lumia 920:

  • Colors: Not much is known about the colors of ATIV S, but the Samsung Web site shows a gray model.

The Windows Phone 8X will be available in November from 150 carriers including AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile in the US. Lumia 920 will be exclusive to the mobile carrier for the first six months after the phone’s launch.

The thing is, we’ve been looking at the tech specs again and actually the Nokia Lumia 920 is better suited as a rival to the  HTC Windows Phone 8X and Samsung Ativ S, This would leave the Nokia Lumia 920 as a true flagship and device of pure innovation, what do you think?

Android Event about Google on October 29

When news about Apple iPad Mini and Microsoft Surface have heated the tablet market, news about Google have lighted people’s eyes. The 32GB Nexus 7(Wifi only),3G-enabled Nexus 7(32GB) ,10-inch tablet Nexus 10,LG Nexus 4 and Jelly Bean 4.2 are all to be announced on October 29, which is undoubtedly a big surprise for us especially for Nexus 7 fans. Let’s just take the details later.
Nexus devices

Nexus 7
32GB Wi-fi Nexus 7 has already been spotted in Japan, and a screenshot reveals it is listed on Staples' business-centric storefront at $248.37, which is almost the same price as the current 16GB model.3G Nexus 7 is unveiled at TaiWan with the model of ME370TG,it adds 3G function compared to 32GB Wi-fi Nexus 7.The price of this version has not mentioned now and we may need to wait for Google’s announcement. Without question, the Nexus-brand tablets will compete directly with Apple's iPad Mini, and Amazon's Kindle Fire HD, and maybe Microsoft Surface RT.

Nexus 10
Yesterday I have reprinted the article which tells Google is building a 10-inch tablet with Samsung that’s probably going to be sold as the Nexus 10, not confirmed yet. Most interestingly, the device seems to be unveiled on October 29, too.

According to The Next Web, the Nexus 10 will run the Android 4.2 and feature a 10-inch display with 2560 x 1600 resolutions, 16:10 aspect ratio and almost 299 pixel per inch (PPI) density. What the product will cost or when it will hit stores have not been mentioned now. More details need to be told on the announce day. It will be probably a high-end device compared to the $199 Nexus 7, and the anticipated $99 Nexus 7.

LG Nexus 4

Rumor about LG Nexus 4 smartphone has confirmed and it will have a quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon processor, a 4.7-in. display with 1280 x 768 resolution, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera (and 1.3-megapixel front-facing snapper) and a 2100mAh battery. The LG Nexus 4 will also be powered by Google’s new Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, according to TNW.

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
All these new devices will come with Android 4.2 on board, the next generation of Jelly Bean.It has been confirmed that Android 4.2 will use ‘Content in the center’ which will allow users to access Play Store content from a widget and ‘Tablet Sharing’ which will satisfy families and enterprise users’ demands by providing a simple and easy access to switch between several users on a tablet, each with their own email and apps. Android 4.2 is more likely to use by Google to compete with Apple iOS 6.

With the rumors of the new devices and new operating system, the Google event day has become very important. Let’s just wait for the Android Event about Google to get more information about these things.

update:It is really a pity that Google cancelled this press announcement out of  Hurricane Sandy, and we still need to wait.

A 10-inch Nexus tablet with Android 4.2 to be Released by Google on October 29?

Nexus 7
The end of this month promises to be full of tech news, as Apple has an event on Tuesday that could see the release of the iPad Mini, Microsoft launches Windows 8 on Friday, and Google has scheduled an Android event for the 29th. As you might expect, leaks are emerging about what the search giant is planning to announce at that event, including the long-expected larger sibling to its Nexus 7 tablet.

The Next Web is reporting that Google is working with Samsung on a 10-inch Nexus -- code-named "Manta" but possibly to be released as the Nexus 10 -- that will compete against the Apple iPad, Amazon Fire HD 8.9", and Windows RT tablets, including the Microsoft Surface.

The site says it's been tipped off on two intriguing specs the new Nexus will have. One is resolution: 2,560x1,600, which could work out to be a higher pixel density (around 300 pixels per inch) than the latest iPad with Retina Display offers. The tablet will also apparently ship with Android 4.2, which was once code-named Key Lime Pie, but which is now being referred to as Jelly Bean, just as Android 4.1 has been.

The Nexus probably won't be the only device announced on the 29th that will run Android 4.2, but it will probably be touted as the first tablet to have it. Whether the latest OS will offer enough novel features to make the Nexus 10 stand out in the ever-more-crowded full-size tablet market remains to be seen, but the success of the Nexus 7 suggests that Google would probably have another winner on its hands regardless.

Are you intrigued by a 10-inch Google Nexus tablet? Enough to buy one over another full-size slate? Let us know in the Talkback section below.

Three measures Facebook have taken to Retain Social Network Dominance

With the developing of mobile devices, now more and more people appeals to have fun at any time anywhere with its portal device. Whether watch the YouTube videos or chat with friends, all of them have inspired company should pay attention to its mobile service. That includes the social networking giant–Facebook.

Everyone wants to know how well Facebook is doing with mobile. According to a new research report, almost one in five new Facebook fans came from mobile devices in August, an increase of 280% in four months.

PageLever looked at more than 500 Facebook Pages with 100,000 or more Facebook fans and found only 5% of new fans came from mobile in May, but that number jumped to 19% in August.

1. Facebook expands mobile app install ads to all developers

If Facebook’s going to make money on mobile, it needs developers building social apps that send it content and buying ads. That’s why making it easy to build Facebook-integrated apps is critical, and why today it revamped its Android SDK and launched the Android Dev Center.  That is to say, two months after offering app install ads for mobile devices to a select group of app developers and their marketing partners,Facebook Mobile Ad Unit for Apps Now Available to All Developers.

2. Facebook Invites Press to Gifts Event in NYC Nov. 1

According to the news from CNET, Facebook sent an invitation to members of the press late Thursday for an event scheduled in New York City to “come see what’s new with Facebook Gifts.”

The invitation — which also includes the words “You = Invited” in front of a grey-scale packaged gift — will be held at FAO Schwarz toy store on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m.

This marks Facebook will hold a press event in the upcoming weeks. The main purpose is to stimulate the growth of its business.

3. India, A New Facebook Testing Ground

India is becoming such a important testing ground for Facebook as it strives to cash in on growth in emerging markets and better target mobile-phone users—two increasingly pressing goals for the social-networking firm.

The company sees the giant nation, whose Internet user base is expanding rapidly, as a market central to its future prospects. Since putting its first employee in India in 2010, Facebook has grown from eight million Indian users to 65 million as of this month, making it one of the company's top global markets.By contrast, Facebook's growth appears to be slowing, particularly in the U.S, mainly due to so much competitors .

But sustaining that growth and cashing in on it won't be a cinch. The firm must cater to millions of Indians coming online for the first time on low-tech mobile phones with spotty cell service. Everything—from Facebook's own services to the many apps Indian companies develop—will have to work in that environment. The firm must also lure marketers who still see social-media advertising as a fringe, experimental activity.

Just like Ms. Reddy said: "We're just early in our journey. "We've got 1.2 billion people in India. We have a lot of people we still need to reach." India looks enticing: the country has about 100 million Internet users now, mostly via desktops, but the real prize is the group of 900 million-plus mobile-phone users, most of whom will get Web access for the first time in coming years. So Facebook have a lot work to do in order to be more successful in India.

If you still have not download the facebook mobile app, choose the app suit for you.
